Picture this: You’re standing on the edge of the sea.
Behind you, an army of thousands of soldiers have their javelins pointed directly at you
You can’t escape…
This could be your last moment on Earth…
And while it might be hard for us to imagine…
That was the situation the Jewish people found themselves in on the seventh day after leaving Egypt…
Trapped between the sea and Pharaoh's relentless army…
In this moment of despair, they turned to Moshe (Moses) for guidance…
Moshe, with unwavering conviction, reminded them of their mission:
To continue forward to Mount Sinai, where G-d was waiting for them.
But with the sea blocking their path, how could they?
That's when someone named Nachshon stepped into the water…
And while you may have never heard of Nachshon…
With this act of bravery, his name was inscribed for eternity in the Torah itself…
See, he didn’t just dip his toes into the water…
He kept going all the way until the water touched his chin.
And just when the sea was about to swallow him up, a miracle happened:
The sea split…
And the rest is history.
This story has a simple, yet powerful message:
G-d wants us to commit our lives to Him… even when we feel all alone or out of place in our service to Him.
Do that, and G-d will take care of you the rest of the way.
Always keep that in mind.
